To chose a local festival that we have attended, enjoyed and want to promote was our assignment. My chosen festival was the Byron Bay Bluesfest, I did want to choose the Woodford Folk Festival but that isn’t exactly local being on the Sunshine Coast and I thought about choosing the Broadbeach Jazz & Blues festival but that was too difficult to find any information about. So the Byron Bay Bluesfest it is. After my research, it was obvious to me that they had developed their logo and style of poster over the years and it was great to see all the old posters and see how thy evolved.
I took the logo off their website and worked on the rest of the poster as best I could, I was wanting to represent the fact they finally found a permanent home for the festival, which is on a tea tree farm and promote the being by the sea fact as well. The line-up hasn’t been announced yet so I had to borrow some names from the 2009 group and I really love the colour pallet as being representational of the area.
