Condom tins have occupied my mind for the last week, it has been a challenge to think of a design that hasn’t already been submitted. The competition is inviting us to help prevent STI’s by making carrying condoms not embarrassing or gross, and if preventing STI’s is not enough reward in itself there is a whole $1000 prize money!
When we saw this: “ We want to make carrying condoms as normal as carrying your mobile phone, ID and keys. Help us design a fun and funky condom tin and you could win $1000.” How could we not want to enter.
The designs came strong and fast but with each visit to the internet site I noticed the entries were coming in at high-speed too, well I managed to find one of my ideas which was original, good (I think) and actually had a message. The poppy design “Remember” (if anyone is inspired to vote on it see link at the end of this post.) is representational of the soldiers who have died in past wars, the teens today seem to be fighting their own war and surviving a simple date can sometimes be challenging. Maybe that challenge is eased a little if they have a condom to protect them – they can then choose not to die.
These are my designs I have done as well as the Remember one I entered, I was also thinking of entering the target ‘target diseases’ or something I would say – plenty of time, it’s not closing till tomorrow:
